Driving accountability on your own is extremely difficult, and it can be a challenge even with help. That’s why we’ve created a five-step process to achieve painless accountability.
Step 1: Dare to Dream. All our clients go through a coach-led exercise we call “Dare to Dream.” It’s goal-setting in a way, but much more than that. We find that most people don’t allow themselves to dream big. Working with an accountability coach can help you unlock the goals that will fuel your drive.
Step 2: Eliminate blockades. We all have personality traits, quirks, and ways we operate that could be holding us back. We work with you using a series of assessment tools to figure out how to unshackle your potential.
Step 3: Play to your strengths. There’s something to be said for eliminating problems, but you’ve never seen someone on the cover of Time magazine stating that the secret to their success was eliminating their weaknesses. Augmenting your strengths will accomplish far more than eliminating your weaknesses. We will figure out your most powerful assets and work with you to leverage them even more.
Step 4: Create a personalized accountability plan. Now that we know your strengths and weaknesses we will combine those with our bank full of tricks. Everyone’s plan is different, but many plans include gamification, milestones, reward systems, scorecards, dashboards, and coaching.
Step 5: Create a rhythm. Your goals can’t fall victim to the “Try Harder Plan.” Trying harder is a great concept, but it lacks backbone and almost never works. What does work is creating a rhythm. Regular meetings with your accountability partner or coach make a tremendous difference in the success or failure of your plan.
